Hood Memorial Hospital Selected to Participate in the SRHT Project
On behalf of the Health Resources Services Administration’s Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP), Rural Health Innovations (RHI), a wholly owned subsidiary ofthe National Rural Health Resource Center (The Center),is excited to announce that Hood Memorial Hospital of Amite, Louisiana has been selected to participate in the Small Rural Hospital Transition (SRHT) Project. SRHT Project is designed to support small rural hospitals nationally in bridging the gaps between the current volume-based health care system and thenewly emerging one based on quality and value. The goal is to transition the hospital to a value-based system, and position the organization and the community for future success.
Hood Memorial Hospital will receive onsite technical assistance (TA) through comprehensive consultations with a nationally recognized consultant to improve financial performance and quality of care. Only nine (9) hospitals areselected on an annual basis to participate in the SRHT Project. The selection process is competitive. The top nine applicants that meet eligibility criteria and organizational readiness, and demonstrate that they are willing and able to complete participation requirements are chosen. The selection process considers the hospital’s leadership and their commitment to implementing best practices that increase improve financial performance and quality of care for their communities.
